To the Northwest of the peninsula, the Mencía vines prosper under the protection of the Cantabrian mountains, influenced by the lush Atlantic climate. Grapes grow close to the town of Villafranca del Bierzo on small slate terraces some 600 metres in altitude, surrounded by a forest of oak, beech and chestnut trees which paint the vertiginous valleys of the Sil river. Such privileged conditions delight us, drop after drop, with a unique minerality and freshness.
Picota cherry-red in colour. Aromas of forest fruits (blackberries) and wildflowers (violet and rose), with balsamic notes and a light, pleasant mineral touch. It’s fruity and fresh on the palate, with good acidity reminiscent of sweet florals.
